Coordinator Guide
just you and me, we'll rise to the top!
Coordinators are a bit different in Numora. If you do not plan to create a coordinator, this thread is not a required read. Here, they have a bit more to them than just trying to win a contest. In Numora, coordinator's main goal, whenever there isn't a contest, is to challenge each other and try to bring up their rating whilst beating down their opponents'.

RATING? Yep, your rating. The higher your rating, the more popular you are. Every coordinator starts at 1200, but the coordinator with the highest ranking is the Grand Coordinator. When two players fight one another, we will be using the Elo rating system to determine the differences. It's not required for you to understand what that is exactly or how it works, but if you would like to read about it be my guest. If you want to know what we will be using to calculate it refer to this website. All that is necessary to know that is winning gets you more points and losing loses points, the larger the gap between the users, the more that's at stake.

GETTING POINTS

To gain points, you simply need to win battles against other coordinators. The battle needs to be a scheduled and televised event in the Contest Hall in order for it to be considered official.

There are other ways for getting more points than just winning, however, as winning contests will give you a 100 boost to your rating without having to battle anyone. For an explanation as to how contests work, refer to the second post in this thread.

When you are in a battle with someone, you can use Move Combos to boost the points gained or reduce the points lost at the end of the battle. Each combo will give you +5, however, they stop affecting your score after 3 combos have been used, meaning you can boost it by a max of 15.

If you boost your contests stats, explained in the second post, and use a move that matches with your boosted stat, then your rating goes up by 1 with a max of 6.

Be sure to STATE your Contest Stats in the beginning of the match so the mods know what to look out for!

LOSING POINTS

It's pretty difficult to lose points, but aside from losing there's only two way to lose points. If you are the Grand Coordinator and you reject a challenge from another, it will be treated as a forfeit and a loss on your side.

If you are archived you will lose 50 points for every month you are archived.

THANKS

Contest Guide
Together, we'll show the world just what we can do!
Welcome to a full explanation of how the contests work in Numora! Unless you're planning to join a contest, this is not a required read. If you want to know how they work and want to have a chance at winning, then read on my friend!

BERRIES AND POKEBLOCKS First things first, is contest stats. Similar to the games, there is a Beauty, Toughness, Cuteness, Cleverness, and Coolness stat. If you're going to be a coordinator, these five stats are going to be very important to you. Each stat can be raised by feeding a Pokemon a pokeblock of the matching type.

A Blue Pokeblock will raise the Beauty stat, Green is Cleverness, Pink is Cuteness, Yellow is Toughness, and Red is Coolness. If you feed your Pokemon a pokeblock, you are required to keep track of them in your PC(Personal Computer).

In order to make these pokeblocks, you must gather the right berries. This is a list of the berries you will be able to get in the orchard in Mirror Lake that you can turn into pokeblocks.

  • user posted image Tamato Berry (Coolness)
  • user posted image Pomeg Berry (Coolness)
  • user posted image Belue Berry (Beauty)
  • user posted image Bluk Berry ( Beauty)
  • user posted image Cornn Berry (Beauty)
  • user posted image Pamtre Berry (Beauty)
  • user posted image Nomel Berry (Toughness)
  • user posted image Pinap Berry (Toughness)
  • user posted image Grepa Berry (Toughness)
  • user posted image Magost Berry (Cuteness)
  • user posted image Nanab Berry (Cuteness)
  • user posted image Spelon Berry (Cuteness)
  • user posted image Qualot Berry (Cuteness)
  • user posted image Durin Berry (Cleverness)
  • user posted image Rabuya Berry (Cleverness)
  • user posted image Watmel Berry (Cleverness)
  • user posted image Wepear Berry (Cleverness)

These berries are not like Oran Berries, in the sense that they cannot be infinitely reproduced through the berry pot. Once you use one, it's gone. In order to be allowed to make a pokeblock, you must collect 3 berries of the same type. The berries will create a treat matching their contest stat and then you can feed it to a pokemon to raise that stat. One pokemon can only take 5 pokeblocks, however, before they can no longer take any berries. You can distribute these five points into your stats in any way you like whether it's specializing in one stat or spreading it across several of them. Choose who you give what wisely!

CONTEST POINTS

Random Number Generator
When it comes to the contests themselves, there's a lot of factors that can affect your points. When you first make your appeal/post, a mod will drop by and roll the dice function three times. These three rolls represent the appeal to three judges that are on the scene, the minimum about of points being 3 while the maximum is 300. The more points you have, the better. A contestant who is also a coordinator, however, will not receive less than 150 points as it is a part of their bonus for being a coordinator.

Moves
The moves you use during the contest can greatly affect your overall score. For example, certain Move Combos will grant you bonus points for pulling off an excellent combo. These combos will grant you an extra 50 points in a contest, giving you a large advantage. Just like battles, however, you can only have a move set of six moves.

Another bonus you can get from moves, is same stat bonus. Let's say you have a move that is listed as "Beauty" in the games, and you happen to have fed your Pokemon 3 beauty pokeblocks just before the contest. For each point you have in the beauty category, you will gain an extra 10 points. This bonus stacks with the move combo bonus, meaning you can make an excellent appeal in just two swift moves!

Each move in your move slots can only give you a bonus once. This means you cannot keep using the same combo over and over again, as the audience has already seen that move.

Writing
Your very writing could affect your score! Making a longer more detailed post could net you bonus points, while a post with plenty of grammatical errors could end up being your downfall.
Every 50 words will get you 10 more points, however this caps out 1000. This means you can get 200 points alone just from making a detailed post!

Every spelling mistake will deduct you 20 points, and every grammatical error will take away 10 points. There is no cap on how many points can be taken away, so be sure to proofread!

A contestant who thinks outside of the box and does something quite different for their performance rather than stepping out and making pretty colors appear is going to receive a 20 point bonus, so be sure to get creative!

Small Detailing
There's a variety of other things that can harm or help your score as well! Below is a complete list of what can hurt your score, and what can help it.

- Repeated use of the same Pokemon/performance across contests could harm the interest of the audience, meaning you will lose 25 points for using the same Pokemon repeatedly. 50 more points will be lost if its the same set and moves.

- Held items, depending on how they are used, could help or hinder your score. For example, making your Pokemon hold a Toxic Orb can be considered cruel, and you will lose 20 points for doing so unless you use it to prove that your Pokemon is strong, in which case you would gain 20.

- Being cruel to Pokemon will cause the judges to deduct 25 points.

- NPC characters will be entered whenever there's a lacking amount of coordinators. The npcs will have their scores randomly generated. If an NPC has the highest score, then nobody wins.
